Exciting Tiger News and Updates:
Effective January 9, 2023, our very own Mr. Joey Carr will be serving our community in the role of State Representative! With this, some necessary changes will need to be made within the Armorel School District.
Starting Monday, January 9, 2023, Mr. Tony Crowell, the current high school principal, will also serve the students in our elementary school as our K-12 principal. Mr. Carr will continue to empower our teachers and work to provide our staff and students with every possible advantage, both serving the Armorel School District and supporting education in Little Rock. With these changes, we vow to continue to provide our students with all the necessary support.
Armorel Elementary is considered one of the state's highest performing schools and has consistently shown itself to be an exemplary education system for our amazing students. We will continue to ensure the same level and expectations of excellence that you have come to expect, while increasing our alignment K-12. With these changes, we will be able to continue the growth of all learners in the Armorel School District.
Another exciting change to facilitate the district's alignment is Mrs. Melissa Booker will now serve as K-12 counselor. She has been a school counselor in the Armorel School District for more than 20 years. During some of this time, she has served as K-12 counselor. We look forward to the positive impact she will have on all students within the district.
In an effort to support Mr. Crowell, the staff, and most importantly our students, Mrs. Genaya Ruddick will continue to foster the high expectations we have all come to see from her teaching in the elementary classroom. She is an outstanding educator and will continue to support her peers as a teacher leader, while supporting Mr. Crowell and Mrs. Turner.
Mrs. Brittany Hazelwood will be team teaching within the third and fourth grade classes. As an eleven-year veteran, she is not new to the district and brings a wealth of knowledge as a current interventionist and high school teacher. She is well-versed and well-educated with many degrees and areas of teaching on her license. These areas are in both elementary and high school, including advanced degrees in special education and reading instruction.
The staff of the Armorel School District has time and time again shown their dedication to student learning. I continue to see the staff show their overwhelming willingness and a positive attitude to do whatever it takes to ensure student success. I appreciate these instructors for accepting these new roles with poise and positivity. We are blessed by their tireless efforts each and every day! This level of dedication and passion to our students are the hallmarks to excellence in education!
Happy New Year! And as always, thank YOU parents and community for the constant support, understanding and grace you demonstrate!

Coach Jaime Clayton will be assuming the role of the Armorel Elementary Lady Tiger Basketball Coach. Coach Clayton is currently the Armorel 7th Grade Lady Tiger Coach and assistant Jr. and Sr Lady Tiger Coach. She is excited to be able to start building on the skills and relationships of our elementary student athletes. If you have any questions, please reach out to Coach Clayton.
